These are the bases of the Gold Series 2010 in Phase 2.
Phase 2 is the state after a few rounds of carving
and begining the gilding process. The undercoat for
leafing is to follow.
Found this gem in the LIFE Magazine archives. So much to look at in this pic. Loving shape details, cut outs, profiles, and the best is the whale hat at the top of the pole. center of the pic.
Here is the next in the Gold Series 2010.
They are the styrofoam bases for four new pieces.
These all will be leafed in gold or silver and treated with the gold foil tablecloth material.
Also the meat of these pieces will be sneaker sculptures.
